Gummiwerk KRAIBURG, founded by Friedrich Schmidt at the end of the 1940s, developed rapidly and expanded continuously. In 1968, his son Peter Schmidt took over a factory in Tittmoning – with the vision of a new production process for recycling tyre rubber. What started with basic rubber mats, has evolved into high-quality stable floorings with “that little extra” over the years. Today, we sell about 1.5 million m² per year all over the world.
At the international conference on “Construction, Engineering and Environment in Livestock Farming” at the University of Hohenheim, Managing Director Martin Klinger has recently been awarded the Max Eyth Commemorative Coin for his consequent and long-term commitment towards animal welfare and modern agriculture. The Max Eyth Commemorative Coin is awarded by the VDI (The Association of German Engineers) in recognition of excellent individual achievements that represent a historical part in the development of agricultural engineering.
Martin Klinger was presented with the award by Georg Wendl, member of the management board of the special VDI division of Max Eyth Society for Agricultural Engineering, who mentioned the importance of his contribution to the establishment of modern animal welfare husbandry systems. Looking forward, he recognized the needs of modern animal husbandry long before the concept of “cow comfort” was invented, and developed ideas for animal-friendly flooring systems right down to their successful implementation – in line with the strategic orientation of KRAIBURG in Tittmoning.
What a good start into our anniversary year!
