The cubicle house of the Arenenberg Agricultural School in Salenstein was one of the first to install KURA mats in Switzerland. KURA S has been installed there since 2002.

Karl Wyrsch, Agricultural School Arenenberg:

„We are still very satisfied. There are no signs of any abrasion on the mats. Before, we had a perforated concrete floor, which caused many problems: the surface was slippery, the cows didn’t show they were in heat and heifer integration was difficult, because they were pushed aside immediately. When cows fell down, the risk of injury was high. We needed to change something.

First we tried mechanical and chemical roughening, then we heard about the KURA mats and decided to try them out. Before installation we also had more claw problems. Nowadays they practically don’t exist.

‘first buy the mats for the cubicle house, then a new tractor, because rubber is more effective – after all the cows produce milk every single day.’

I can affirm that this investment paid off. Cow comfort has its costs in the beginning, but brings many returns later.”
